Don't be irreplaceable. If you can't be replaced, you can't be promoted.
It is we who choose to read the side of the dice which faces away from the earth and in doing so we close our eyes to the absolute truth. It doesn't make any more sense to read the dice by the side facing away from earth than it does to read it by which side is facing north. All sides of the dice exist whether we choose to observe them or not.
What in this reality is worth being called valuable? An age with a rising online video game market, are virtual items any less real than material objects? Nothing in this world goes with you when you die, except for your memories. So to say a virtual item in a game that you enjoy is worth less or less important than a new cell phone or the computer you play the game on is nonsensical. According to the Buddha in order to further yourself on the path of enlightenment you must break yourself from earthly emotions and possessions, so does that mean we can keep our virtual game items? Probably not, it is a material product of the world in which we reside. However those words can aide us in making our lives better even if we aren't able to give it 100% and we do this by getting rid of our greed, envy, jealousy, hate, and anger. Those are the worst of the emotions in my opinion and they cloud your mind, your judgement, and remove you from your path to enlightenment. So in conclusion do not let people bring you down because you give value to virtual items that you acquired in a virtual game. Just remember they won't get to take their 60,000 sports car with them into the next life either.
