The third and final update for 1.4 is now here, with it comes some changes to a lot of the things added in 1.4:
- Avatar creation: Removed character name as an option, avatars will use the accounts username instead. One avatar per account is allowed.
- Ubar / Mbar: The Ubar has been changed to the Mbar, which stands for menu bar. It is the bar at the top with the menu and login in it. The Ubar is now at the bottom of the screen and shows your avatar, and soon other stats. It stands for user bar. It only displays when logged in.
- Mana Models: More models have been created for Mana Heroes, soon these will be able to be acquired by your avatars while playing in battle simulations. The models themselves will be horizontally transformed and flipped in 1.5 so the "right" arm is behind their back and the left arm is in front.
- Other misc improvements have been made.
So there you have it, that's the final update for 1.4 and now we begin on 1.5 update. It should be at least as big as 1.4 if not bigger. No info is going to be given on what we hope to include in 1.5 but be sure it's going to be interesting.
A second large update has been pushed to the live servers, preview 2 of the 1.4 Update. A lot of updates in this push, some of them being:
- Improvements to the "time ago" time on blog posts and comments.
- Blog avatars changed back from just the head to full body, temporarily.
- A basic avatar creation system with race, class, and eye color choices.
The list isn't long but the updates are pretty big, the avatar creation being the largest. It will have many improvements coming for it soon. More options and choices and what not. Feel free to test it out but don't get attached to the avatar you make, cause they will be deleted often in the coming updates as we improve it.
A large update has been pushed to live, the preview 1 version of 1.4 to be exact. Some of the changes are as follows:
- Time ago for blog posts and comments now says "days ago" when hours are over 24.
- The Mana tab has been added to the user bar at the top, though it doesn't do much.
- A good foundation for avatar generation code has been put in place.
- Active users list, updates anytime a page is loaded by anyone, removes users after 180 seconds.
- Active user count, counts total number of active users.
- User profiles, these can be accessed when logged in by clicking on a blog author or comment author name.
The avatar in my blog posts and comments is now generated by code based on static settings in the coming days the code will be updated to retrieve the data from the character database and load/save your current characters actual avatar. This will be the beginning of the game and the foundation needed for dynamic avatars. We're quite a few steps closer to battle simulations.
Tag list for all the tags used so far in blog posts. This will also include the number of times the tag was used and tag names will be links to a tag search filter that will only show the posts tagged with that tag.
